“I like to tell people about how when I first started the transformation, I had to google “fennel” at the grocery store because I had no idea what it looked like or where to find it. It wasn’t that I was stupid, or lazy – I was neither of those things – I just needed to be shown what to do, step-by-step, in detail, and there’s nothing shameful in that. It’s so much easier to switch your mind to auto-pilot, follow the meal plan, and let nature take its course. What have you got to lose, other than inches?”

Roxanne W.

“TRULY, If *I* can do it, someone who’s at my weight, my age, not an athlete or particularly compelling in a bathing suit, who usually does NOT stick to this stuff…if *I* can do it, anyone can!”

Carla M.

“I would tell them that it is incredible what can happen in only 28 days. If you surrender to it and are really open to change, you can make it happen, you can change your life.”

Jen D.

“I would say it really is a lifestyle not so much changing things but a general shift in your perception of what you need to make you content and healthy.”

Lucy E.

“I’ve told them to put themselves first. I lost 30lbs and  it’s a huge confidence boost. It’s changed the way I talk about health and fitness and I realise I can take on things. I became the executive director of the fringe and I ran a goddamn marathon!! I honestly don’t know if I would have done that race had it not been for this community.

Karen V.

“Diet implies a temporary choice, diet implies sacrifice, diet implies failure and punishment – this was nothing like that. We never talked much about the things we were not allowed except in the first week. These are guidelines for training yourself to be free to get back to lovin’ life in your own body again.”

Holly B.

“I tell them – this is your guide to the health mountain, it isn’t a fad but common sense healthy habits that you can/will sustain for life.”

Heather L.

“I want people to know that if we can do it so can you. Do what you can, learn what your body needs and don’t give up! No matter what obstacles life throws in your way they are never as big as the obstacle you create for your self. I learned that I was my biggest wall (literally), when you choose to listen to your body the door of possibilities will open and the opportunities are endless. I will always want an ice cream or a handful of chips but by experiencing how my body feels when it is properly fueled I no longer crave and turn to those foods.”

Michelle B.

You really have to find your reason for wanting to change. It has to come from inside, and this can’t be something you do for other people, or else chances are, you will still be unhappy with any progress you make. Forgive yourself when you slip up, and respect yourself by standing by your decisions. I truly feel like my fitness goals are attainable this time around. I am no longer telling myself “tomorrow.”.

You absolutely have to check out Oonaghs program… it’s fool proof, real life, and a lifesaver. I have much more confidence generally and I am happier all around. Life is too short don’t make it any shorter…the more you get out there and get in shape the more of life you can enjoy.

On the last night of the Challenge, I was out at a gig and this man was hitting on me (!!!) who was not much older than me, and was telling me about his daughter who was born in 1995 and said “But, sure, that was probably before you were born”. He nearly fell over when I told him my son was born in 1998!!

So not only have I changed my life since the Challenge, I’m apparently also aging backwards!!!!

Maxine S.

You CAN do this! The transformation teaches us that it’s not about perfection, it’s about making a good choice each little choice – make joining that next good choice!

I’m not a former Olympic athlete or college sports star, I’m an average person. It doesn’t take a special skill or background to get in shape – you just need to commit to wanting to and connect with a support system.

Lisa B.

The transformation was not just physical or of my pantry or of my meal planning habits.  It was transformation of the psyche. It’s not perfect yet but its building. Very practically, at the end of the 28 days, I lost 12 lbs and inches from almost every physical measurement, I improved in my assessments.  Seeing and feeling results were incredibly motivating even if not massive change. But they CHANGED. The #nsv were plentiful–clothes fit better, bloating and swelling were gone, stress feelings diminished.

I just turned 50 and feel better than ever. I just went on my most adventuresome trip and surfed in Hawaii! That was a lifetime goal and I did it. I also cavorted around beaches in bikinis for 2 weeks without feeling old and self-conscious even once.

Kimberly H.

I have told friends and co-workers that I went through a lifestyle change. I am not on a diet, I am eating the way I need to so that I feel good. I still get treats and serve black bean brownies to show that I am still me and a chocolate lover at heart!
I am lazy. I love sitting and reading and sitting and knitting or crocheting. If I can do it, anyone can!

Mary W.

There is a way to find harmony and balance and it isn’t as hard as you think. If you’re wiling to try to put yourself first, you have the freedom to shift your whole life view from something that is daunting and stressful to a lot of people – to being free and knowing how to take care of yourself without it having to take up all of your mental space.

Raelene E.

If you are looking to make a change in your life … I feel like I am nourishing my body and feel more ‘in control’ in all aspects of my life.  I love the way this has changed my life.
