Michelle is one of our East End Early Risers and according to her trainer, Trevor,
‘Michelle is super sweet, and fun but also extremely fierce in her workouts. I consider her a leader in class because her positive outlook helps make everyone’s class experience better.’
What’s not to love about that? Read on for Michelle’s Fitness Story!
How long have you been training with us?
Were you always an exerciser? What did you do for your fitness before signing up with FFG?
I’ve never been naturally athletic and have tried lots of different ways to consistently exercise. I’ve done yoga, step classes, spin classes, weight classes, but it was always pretty on-and-off.
What made you sign up for a FFG Bootcamp ?
I was trying to get fit before my wedding last summer and my friend Kaitlyn had been asking me for months to just try this early morning Bootcamp.
I thought I’d sign up for 6 weeks and be done with it, but I got hooked!
How have the program changed your life?
It has changed so much!
I feel strong for the first time in my life.
I can go for a bike ride without worrying about not being fit enough to keep up.
I can fit into all of my clothes.
I feel confident wearing clothes that aren’t baggy and actually show my arms.
What do you do when you are not Bootcamping?
I read, walk my dog Tucker, drink wine with my book club, and eat a lot of gummy candy.
What’s your major fitness goal right now?
I want to keep getting stronger. I still do pushups from my knees, so I’d love to progress to a standard pushup.
What about coming to Bootcamp makes you jump out of bed at 5am singing the Hills Are Alive with the Sound of Music?
The people! It’s like hanging out with friends at 6AM.
What exercise or drill makes you cower under your bed covers and pretend you don’t hear your alarm?
Hill runs and anything with abs.
Best/funniest bootcamp moment?
This is hard to choose! I loved bringing my little sister to Bootcamp and see her unexpectedly dominate the hill runs.
Also, face swapping with our instructor Trevor:
What advice would you give someone who is just starting out with us or just thinking about it?
The early mornings really aren’t that bad. You get used to them. And it’s a great feeling when you finish work for the day and know that you can just relax because you already exercised.
What is the accomplishment or personal milestone you are most proud of?
I ran a 10K this year!
Running has been a big fear of mine and when I told my dad that I was training for a 10K he really didn’t believe me.
But the whole east end crew trained together which made it fun and I am proud to say that I ran the whole thing without stopping.
