Oh you put that so clearly Oonagh! Yes! That is something I will carry with me to use in those moments of temptation. It also tells me, if I’m using food for pleasure a lot, that I need to find other sources of giving myself pleasure every single day so that I don’t create a pleasure deficit that I fill with the easiest, most reliable method (ie: food).
Yes! Definitely don’t skimp on the pleasure! Just make sure your sources of pleasure are ALSO going to lead to long term HAPPINESS. 🙂

This is great, i recently actually started looking at food like – that is goodie just for pleasure, and this is food that keeps me healthy, gives me energy…. Funny that just saying it out loud makes changes in our family ´s week menu. And your video is so honest and touching the point.

I never thought of it like that before…pleasure vs happiness. Thank you for that! Although I do have a question about “being happy right now at the weight we are at…” Do we lie to ourselves and say “I am happy with myself right now the way I am but I’m going to lose the 10 pounds that is bothering me”…..

Great question! Yes – you want to think something like this: Even though I’m not yet at my ideal weight, I completely love and accept myself exactly as I am. And I’m so excited to continue to get fitter and healthier every day!

I picked up you book in January and after doing the journal prompts at the beginning I realized for the first time in 30 years (I’m 51), I had the feeling that maybe, possiblity, I could actually learn to think the way healthy people think.
